Ron Brachman is Yahoo!'s Chief Scientist and Head of Yahoo! Labs as well as Head of Yahoo!’s Academic Relations organization. He received a B.S.E.E. degree from Princeton University, and S.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University.
Brachman is well-known for his work in Knowledge Representation, including the creation of Description Logics. He has worked as Head of the Artificial Intelligence Principles Research Department at AT&T Bell Laboratories and was one of the founders of AT&T Labs. In addition, he was Director of the Information Processing Technology Office for DARPA, where he created DARPA’s Cognitive Systems research thrust.
