About the Speaker

Pat Hayes

Pat Hayes is a British computer scientist who lives and works in the United States of America.  Since 2006 has worked as a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition in Pensacola, Florida.

Hayes received a BA in Mathematics from University of Cambridge and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from University of Edinburgh.  In the 1990s, he served as President of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial intelligence.  Since then, he has also been secretary of the Society for the Study of Artificial intelligence and the Simulation of Behaviour and Chairman and Trustee of International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence.
