The Simulator

For simulators currently available (from the CCS Archive) see here -- March 2005

To run the simulator, you need a PC with SVGA graphics, and DOS or Windows 3.1/95/NT. Detailed installation instructions come with it, but if you have reasonably new PC, the chances are it will Just Work. It's available as a self-installing exe file or in zip format.

The simulator reproduces the instruction set behaviour of the real machine precisely, so any program which runs on the simulator should run on the real machine.

For details of alternative simulators (whether you are interested in writing one or just want to use one), look here.

If you have problems getting it to work please read the installation instructions carefully.
