Animation Competition

My class are really enjoying working with Alice and are keen to enter the competition this year. We can't access the web folder and so can't use any of the "extra pieces" . My ICT technician has tried to solve the problem for us but even on an ordinary council pc she can't (they don't have the same fierce firewall that schools have). I have no problem accessing it at home. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

By web folder do you mean the gallery site on the Alice website? If so, please could you let me know which categories in the gallery you don't already have in your download of Alice?

We have a local gallery which is on our computers. When we try to access the web gallery that appears in Storytelling Alice, we get a message that says we don't have access to the internet. We have tried going to alice.org and downloading items from the gallery on the website (we don't seem to have anything that is in that gallery) and have saved them into the local gallery folders but then we can't see them when we open Alice.

I'm afraid I'm struggling to recreate this problem. Please can you try creating a new folder called 'objects' or 'web' or similar, within the 'Required/gallery' folder, and then try saving the objects from the Alice gallery, (http://www.alice.org/index.php?page=gallery/index) directly into this folder? This folder should then appear along with the 'Characters' and 'Scenes' folders in the local gallery.

Let me know if this doesn't work.

Thank you - that works perfectly! My class will be so pleased tomorrow! It can be hard sometimes when I'm not very technically minded but know what the technology can do and want to let the children experiment and be creative.
