to the John Rylands Library; from the Cathedral to Chetham’s, not
forgetting the Art Gallery, the Radisson Hotel, the People’s History
Museum, the Portico Library, sites where political history was made,
where football history was made; places which the Smiths sang about,
Anthony Burgess described and Lowry painted. These are just some
examples of the sites that you will learn about on the tour.
Wednesday 13 July: Conference Banquet
The
conference dinner will be held in the
Manchester Museum. The Manchester Museum is home to one of the largest and most important collections of ancient Egyptian artefacts in the United Kingdom. The collection includes objects from prehistoric Egypt (c. 10,000 BC) to the Byzantine era, up to around AD 600. The dinner will take place in the pre-historic Life Gallery with Stan (the T-rex).
