2012 will be Alan Turing Year, and marks the 100th anniversary of Alan Turing's birth. Turing has been called the "Father of Computer Science", for his early work on the mathematical basis of programming. He is well-known for his code-breaking work at Bletchley Park, and he subsequently worked on the early computers at The University of Manchester in the 1940s.

You can play your part in celebrating Turing too - make your entry to Animation12 about Turing, his life and work, or his impact, and submit it to our special Alan Turing category, which have its own special prizes.

Good luck!

UK Schools Computer Animation Competition is hosted annually by The University of Manchester, School of Computer Science.
